Thank you for following the progress of the Bethel Midtown Village/North Downtown Athens redevelopment. The redevelopment will preserve and expand affordable housing options downtown and advance the vision included in the North Downtown Athens Master Plan.
Current Work, as of August 2023:
- Six of the original Bethel Village buildings that sat on the future North Downtown Athens Phase I development site have been demolished.
- The demolition and grading project associated with the Phase I development site is complete.
- The infrastructure project which includes: a wetland park and other public open spaces, roads, utilities, street fixtures, and realignment of Hull and Hoyt Streets is underway.
